Kids rarely sit still, and that is perfectly fine. Those wiggly moments make for better photos anyway.
I have photographed San Francisco Bay Area families for nearly two decades, from new babies and young children to teenagers, grandparents and multi-generational gatherings.
I use natural light and an unforced approach to give kids room to move, explore and be themselves. We will choose a location with good light and space to move, perhaps a favorite park, your living room, or your backyard. I will follow the rhythm of your family, and give direction when it's useful, but I don't want your family spending an hour trying to hold a perfect pose.
If your kids want to explore, climb, splash, or run a little it will make for more genuine moments. Often the best images happen when everyone forgets about the camera.
